Ashes of Secrets

Ashes of Secrets is a text-based RPG built on scenes and choices, powered by the Polygon blockchain — a fast and energy-efficient network designed to work seamlessly with Ethereum.

Polygon acts as an extension of Ethereum, a sort of “fast lane” enabling near-instant transactions at extremely low cost while remaining compatible with Ethereum standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, etc.).

This means that all game items, artifacts, and characters (NFTs) can be exchanged, used, or traded on platforms like OpenSea or integrated into other Web3 DApps.

Thanks to Polygon, the game provides a smooth experience without prohibitive fees or slowdowns, while remaining anchored to the Ethereum ecosystem — the global leader in decentralized applications.

Ashes of Secrets belongs to the Web3 universe, the continuation of Web2 (E-commerce, social networks, etc.): a decentralized generation of the internet where players truly own their items, identity, and progression.

🦊 MetaMask is the entry key: a digital wallet that allows you to connect to the game, sign your choices, own your items (NFTs), and interact securely with the blockchain.

MetaMask also lets you purchase tokens (cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, etc.), including POL — required if you wish to replay scenes — and store them securely.

As a Web3 extension for Google Chrome, MetaMask is quick to install, recommended for Ashes of Secrets, and widely used.

Note that MetaMask is only needed to connect — the game can be played for free.

🎭 Here, NFTs represent unique items: an amethyst brooch, a coded letter, or the Black Widow’s dagger. These items are not decorative — they have real impact on choices, dialogues, and story branches.

🪙 Two tokens circulate in the world of Ashes of Secrets:

• LIV: a utility cryptocurrency, currently under development as the future ERC-20 token of the game. Used to unlock scenes, replay sequences, or repair artifacts (burn mechanic).
• POL (ERC-20 token on Polygon): the main currency, used to replay scenes. Approximately €0.15 / $0.15 at the time these lines were written.

🕵️ This Play-to-Own model gives real weight to your decisions. Every player is free, but each choice is recorded — like a digital signature engraved into history.

NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), whether ERC-1155 or ERC-721, are unique tokens stored on a blockchain, serving as tamper-proof digital proof of ownership. For the first time in digital history, you can truly own a digital item — artwork, music, weapon, virtual land, certificate, VIP access, and more.

The objective of the game is to complete your mission. If you succeed, your NFTs and your LIV will be minted (mined) for free on the blockchain — making you their official owner. This is your reward.
In case of failure, you will have the opportunity to restart the game.
